Fri 14th Jan 2011

Arts, Youth, Sporting & Community Groups across Bray are being invited to begin their preparations for the annual St Patrick’s Festival in Bray.

st patricks festival brayNow in its seven year under its rejuvenated format, the St Patrick’s Festival is the largest such festival of our national holiday in the county. With a week-long series of supporting festival events, including the Festival is now acknowledged as one of the largest such St Patrick’s festival events on the east coast.

Organisers of this year’s event are promising an increased level of colour and music in this year’s Parade, which will take place as normal from 3pm on St Patrick’s Day Thursday 17th March. The entire festival, with the very best in family amusements and thrill rides, will run for over a week, with the largest-ever St Patrick’s Carnival seen in Bray or in Ireland, including new rides never seen in Bray before. Live music will rock the Bandstand (weather permitting of course) over the duration of the Festival.

Promoted by Bray & District Chamber, and proudly supported by Bray Town Council, this year’s St Patrick’s Festival is all about celebrating the best of Bray. “Every year the success of the Parade is down to the contributions made by the local community groups, without whom it would not be possible. The St Patrick’s Festival Bray committee is encouraging all participants in this year’s parade to provide a colourful display for the thousands of spectators who visit Bray for the parade,” Mr Mick Glynn, Chair of the St Patrick’s Festival Bray committee commented.

“There are several different categories of awards available to be won by participates so get your groups together and plan your entry this year” stated Mick Glynn.

Application Forms for this year’s Parade, plus additional information, are now available from Bray & District Chamber. Please contact Stephanie Curran or Kathy O’Toole on (01) 282 8248 or email: info@braychamber.ie.
